Choose one of the other movements of Dallapiccola’s Quaderno( the piece that is covered in chapter fourteen’s outline) and analyze the piece. Making sure to mark EVERY row permutation on the score. Make sure you are not analuzing the piece found in the outline!

After the analyze the score, write at least a 1 page – double spaced , 12 point times new Roman paper explaning how the composer is using the tone rows. Question to think about:

Are the rows used in a weird way?
Repetitions?
Interesting combinations?
How is the range of the piece treated?
Is there a form? If so, does it delineate this form?
