This is a five-page research paper. The paper must be in Times New Roman, 1-inch margins, 12-point font, and double-spaced. The Reference page does not include in the page count. Citations must be in APA style. Pick a topic from any module of this course and pick a statute from your state that addresses the topic. Conduct external research that refutes the logic/basis for that statute. Do you agree with the findings? Why or why not? Use legislative history to also support your findings. Example (1): bail reform in New York – what are the positions for reforming the new bail reforms? What are the positions for leaving the new reforms as is? What does the research show that supports either side? Which side do you agree with and why? Show support. Example (2): Raise the Age in New York – what are the positions for raising the age of legal culpability? What research supports it? That refutes it? Which side do you and why? Show support. – “The instructions don’t say how much sources to use, just use as many as you want. I think the second example of raising the age in New York sounds more interesting, and I attached readings that might help you with this example.”
