This means that your paper will need to make an argument through the exposition of one or more of our course readings. In other words, you must demonstrate a thorough understanding of one of the texts we have read so far, and make and defend a claim about it. Your papers need to have a thesis statement that you develop throughout the paper, as well as return to and expand upon (show the stakes of) in your conclusion.
