Consider the threat of cyber attacks from regimes like Iran and North Korea, including past news about the exploitation of a bug in the Apple iPhone software that helped foreign governments spy on citizens or power outages in the airline industry that caused havoc to plane travel in the summer. Also, consider the terrorist attack in Paris a few years ago and how it was reported that Playstation 4 may have played a role in how terrorists communicated with each other prior to the attacks to avoid government monitoring.

You may also consider the threats to US voting systems before the last US Presidential election and the fear of threats to this upcoming election. With the 2016 election, the FBI had detected breaches against two state voting systems which could have impacted the voting process for the presidential election and an investigation has been ongoing as to Russia’s role with interfering in US election with several agencies affirming that it had.
