rt 1: Create your 3-generation genogram, 4 if you have children. Start with yourself and build out, up, and down (if you have kids). Be as comprehensive as you can. Some great resources to reference are https://www.genogramanalytics.com/genogram_symbols.html, https://familytherapybasics.com/blog/2016/11/26/family-of-origin-exploration-for-the-therapist-create-your-genogram and the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6lnibJgvh0. You may choose to create your genogram using Word or another program, or you may draw it. If you draw it, make it VERY neat. Take several pictures or scans if necessary, to capture all the details of your genogram. Create a legend or key for your symbols.Part 2: Write a brief response to this activity. What questions about your family are you curious about after doing this activity? What patterns did you become aware of? What feelings or thoughts did this activity bring up about your history, your story, your identity?
