An essay on a myth in the United States of America, that surrounds immigrants and immigration. That immigrants commit a disproportionate amount of crime compared to the native born population do. Not only is this wrong, supported by research, it perpetuates xenophobia and nativism, which is obviously harmful. After evidence is introduced that proves this myth wrong, explanations of xenophobia and nativism can be applied, and examples of them in action as well.
