In this last unit you will be writing a reflection paper. A reflection is defined as serious thought or consideration. Keeping that definition in mind, the main requirement for this paper is to respond to the following questions in a thoughtful, honest an analytical way:
What part of the writing process (drafting, revision, organization, etc.) are you going to reflect on, and why?
What did you think and feel while you were writing these essays, and why?
What did you do well in this course, and what could you have done better?
What part of the writing process do you think you really learned to do well this semester? How did you master this skill?
What are the general and specific conclusions you have made about your personal writing process?
What could have been done differently and what will be affected by what you have learned in this class?
What do you wish you would have learned more about in this class?
Can be as personal and as detailed as it needs to be to communicate your reflection
Should be kept for your records to remind you of how far you have come as a writer!
In answering these questions, I would like you to think about what your approach to writing was in January, and what it is now. Please feel free to talk about concepts that may have confused you, or those that you understood immediately. Were there any favorite assignments? How did you feel about the topic(s) you were asked to write about? Did writing about different topics help you gain more understanding of the writing process? These alternate questions are meant as a springboard for you and are only suggestions, but you can answer them in addition to the required questions if you like.
