Please decide on an area of campus (or the internet, etc.) that you are interested in. This can be either a work setting or a study setting. Your task will be to study how people manage stress is their environment (or a similar topic of interest). You will be doing observation in order to determine how you see people managing stress. Please watch how people interact with the individuals around them and how they exist in their environment. You will also want to look for significant symbols and patterns of interaction. After you have observed the group of interest, you will need to conduct an interview. Please use either: critical incident technique (where you have participants tell a story about a key incident) or stimulated recall (where you record an observation and ask for feedback from the interviewee).
The report should include:
Type of research you conducted
What your observations were- and how you conducted your observations
What your interview found- what type of interview did you use
What was the role of the observers
What significant symbols or patterns you identified
You will be graded on your grammar, creativity, insight, and detail of observations.
